“Welcome to our 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility Report.”
While 2020 sees the world managing and coping through a pandemic, it has never been clearer that values need to guide us as individuals and corporations. Staples Business Advantage remains committed to our values and responsibilities towards Corporate Social Responsibility including the areas of Community, Ethics, Environment and Diversity. I’m proud of the impact we’ve been able to make throughout the past year and hope to inspire others in their corporate social responsibility journey so that together we can continue to positively impact our world..
Throughout this report, you will discover the initiatives our team delivered to meet our sustainability objectives and positively impact our company, industry and community. These highlights focus on our four pillars of Corporate Social Responsibility:
Community: We strongly encourage our associates to get involved in our communities and seek out partnerships to support volunteer opportunities. Community involvement increases associate engagement and has a positive and lasting impact on the overall well-being for our associates and our communities.
Ethics: It’s a top priority for us to uphold our Code of Ethics in every area of our business. We hold all our associates to high ethical standards including honesty, fairness and integrity when dealing with each other, customers and suppliers. In addition, our Supplier Code of Conduct helps us ensure access and commitment to responsibly sourced products.
Environment: We are committed to doing our part to make a positive impact on the environment. Our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications show our commitment to international standards within our operation, while helping our customers reduce their environmental impact through our recycling programs and offering green product choices.
Diversity: We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture at Staples Business Advantage. We believe that our differences allow us to be more innovative as a company. From our partnerships with diverse suppliers to supporting our associates through our Business Resource Groups, we are always building a culture of acceptance and inclusivity.

Our Sales professionals undergo intensive training to ensure they have the skills and expertise to address challenges that customers face and provide the best possible outcomes. They take the time to understand the “need behind the need”.
Building resilience through sustainability partnerships helps us grow and our customers reap the benefits too. We strive to empower our customers to make informed decisions and offer sustainable solutions.
By offering thousands of environmentally friendly products to choose from we enable our customers to “purchase with purpose”. Having our internationally recognized ISO 9001/ 14001 certifications are a testament to our focus on exceeding customer satisfaction and minimizing our impacts to the environment. Our recycling services with pick up of used batteries, ink & toner cartridges, Staples cardboard boxes and e-waste items from our customers helps divert waste from the landfill.
Lastly, we take pride in our commitment to make a positive impact on the communities where our employees and customers live and work. As we say, our employees come to work not just to make a paycheque but also to “make a difference.”
